I Am Guilty

We are quickly running out of days in 2013 so time to put out another list for you all.  I am not proud of this list at all.  This is my list of 2013 Musical Guilty Pleasures.  I know these songs are crap so save your comments.  Most of you reading this probably have an entire iPod full of crap but you are able to keep them secret in the safety of your home or car.  Anyway here are my favorite turds of 2013.  Enjoy them.

5. 1994 – Jason Aldean

This song is ridiculous, the video is ridiculous, they lyrics are atrocious but I still like this song.  I have a weird infatuation with the Nashville country music machine and the crap it churns out.  There is no excuse and I can’t explain it.

4. We’re Going Home – Drake

The only thing I know about Drake is I like this song and he used be on the show “Degrassi: The Next Generation” where he played some high school kid who got shot and ended up in a wheelchair.  The reason I know this because I have watched about 99 episodes of the show.  I have a problem of watching shows and movies about high school but that is a story for another time.   Anyway listen to this song and try to tell me it is not catchy.

3. Story of My Life – One Direction

I seriously just heard this song for the 1st time a few weeks ago when they performed it on SNL.  It is the only One Direction song I have listened to all the way through and it has a strange Mumford and Sons quality to it that I like.   I must not be the only one who likes it since it has 100,000,000 views on YouTube, probably mostly from 13 year old girls and me.

2. Get Lucky – Daft Punk

This song has an addictive quality to it that makes you listen to it about 50 times in a row.  It has a mid 1980s skating rink feel to it.  I feel like this song could easily fit on Michael Jackson’s album “Off The Wall”.   Quit judging you know you listened to this song all effin summer.

1. Blurred Lines – Robin Thicke

Did I initially hear this song because I wanted to check out the video with naked girls? Yes.  Is the song a pretty blatant rip off of a Marvin Gaye song? Yes.  Did I still listen to the song a thousand times this year?  Yes.  Am I ashamed of myself for this entire list? Of course.  Will you watch the video of the song from Jimmy Fallon?  100% yes you will.
