Round 2 Continues

Well based on the voting so far it looks like most of you pulled your heads out of your asses.  Let’s see if we can keep it going with the next group of match ups.

The Allman Brothers vs. Neil Young

This is a clash of the titans.  The original southern/jam band that has employed 4 of the greatest guitar players of all time through the years going against one of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time.  This is another match up where you cannot make the wrong choice.

Check out the only song I could find under 10 minutes on YouTube from the Allman Brothers

Here is Neil doing a great cut off of his 1st solo album.

The Rolling Stones vs. Otis Redding

This is the meanest of all the match ups you will see.  The greatest rock band of all time going up against the greatest soul singer of all time.  I will be sad to see either of these guys go.

Here is the original Stones lineup doing “Satisfaction” in 1965.

Otis doing “Try a Little Tenderness” with Booker T and the MG’s as his backing band.

Eric Clapton vs. Pearl Jam

You have a guy that was nicknamed “God” for his guitar playing skills battling one of the great American rock bands of the past 25 years.

Here is a nasty version of “Badge” from the 2005 Cream reunion.  Check out the guitar lick at the 1:13 mark.

Pearl Jam at the height of their powers with Neil Young.  This is a ferocious version of “Rockin’ in the Free World”.

Neil Diamond vs. Prince

The guy who is your parent’s favorite singer going up against a guy who is one of the most underrated guitar players of the last 30 years.

Neil playing one of his classics to a crowd full of AARP card holders.

Prince absolutely shredding the guitar solo to “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”.  Prince tossing his guitar and walking off the stage at the end of the song is the equivalent of Chris Rock dropping his mic at the end of one of his shows, pretty bad ass.  If you only watch one video tonight make it this one.
