UK Basketball Schedule is Out #BBN

Yesterday Kentucky released their 2015-16 basketball schedule and once again it is full of big games against big name schools.  As the SEC continues to add real coaches to the mix and better players the league should be better this year but not quite at the level of the Big10 or ACC.  A couple quick thoughts.

Nov. 2: vs. Ottawa (Exhibition)
Nov. 6: vs. Kentucky State (Exhibition)
Nov. 13: vs. Albany (Rupp Arena)
Nov. 14: vs. NJIT (Rupp Arena)
Nov. 17: vs. Duke (United Center, Chicago, 7:30, ESPN) – Kentucky has only beaten Duke twice since the ’78 Championship game.  Both should be ranked in the top five.
Nov. 20: vs. Wright State (Rupp Arena)
Nov. 24: vs. Boston University (Rupp Arena)
Nov. 27: vs. USF (American Airlines Arena, Miami, 5:00, ESPN)
Nov. 30: vs. Illinois State (Rupp Arena, 7:00, ESPN2)
Dec. 3: at UCLA (Pauley Pavilion, Los Angeles, 6:00, ESPN) – this is the game UK is playing instead to playing Indiana.  The Cats are able to get a recruiting showcase game on the west coast.
Dec. 9: vs. Eastern Kentucky (Rupp Arena, 7:00 ESPN2)
Dec. 12: vs. Arizona State (Rupp Arena, 3:15, ESPN) – new coach Bobby Hurley will always have his team ready to play.
Dec. 19: vs. Ohio State (Barclays Center, Brooklyn, 3:30, CBS)
Dec. 26: vs. Louisville (Rupp Arena, Noon, CBS) This stretch of three games heading into conference play will really test this years team and will show what the team needs to fix during Jan and Feb.  I could see UK losing 2 of the first 12 games.
Jan. 2 – Ole Miss
Jan. 5 – at LSU (ESPN)
Jan. 9 – at Alabama
Jan. 12 – Mississippi St.
Jan. 16 – at Auburn
Jan. 21 – at Arkansas
Jan. 23 – Vanderbilt
Jan. 27 – Missouri
Jan. 30: at Kansas (Allen Fieldhouse, Lawrence) – I love this late January match-up.  Something to break up the SEC grind.  Should be a fun one.
Feb. 2 – at Tennessee
Feb. 6 – Florida (CBS)
Feb. 9 – Georgia
Feb. 13 – at South Carolina
Feb. 18 – Tennessee
Feb. 20 – at Texas A&M
Feb. 23 – Alabama
Feb. 27 – at Vanderbilt (CBS)
March 1 – at Florida
March 5 – LSU (CBS) – I see this team losing 4 – 5 games this year since they play the top SEC team twice this year.
March 9-13 – SEC Tournament

I don’t think we will see another undefeated regular season but it should be fun to watch.
