The HBC and Sark, well at least one of you will be missed.

images-54Tonight we found out we lost a legend.  Steve Spurrier, the Head Ball Coach, is stepping down and retiring from coaching.  I have always loved the HBC even when he was running up the score on my Wildcats.  Here are some of the classic quotes he has delivered over the years.

Spurrier on playing Georgia early in the season. “I don’t know. I sort of always liked playing them the second game because you could always count on them having two or three key players suspended.”

Spurrier on Tennessee’s repeat visits to the Citrus Bowl in his Florida coaching days. “You can’t spell Citrus without U-T.”  And the classic  “I know why Peyton came back for his senior year. He wanted to be a three-time star of the Citrus Bowl.”

On a fire at the Auburn football dorm that destroyed 20 books. “But the real tragedy was that 15 hadn’t been colored yet.”

I know a lot of people don’t like him and are probably glad he is leaving but how can you know love a coach that refers to his QB as “the thrower”, his receivers as “the catchers” and his defensive players as “the tacklers”.

Now he will be able to get 7 rounds of golf in a week instead of just 5.  Hit em straight Steve.

Speaking of coaches that aren’t coaching any longer.

We found out Steve Sarkisian was so drunk all the time his name is being mentioned for the coach in the next Bad News Bears movie.  It got me thinking what Sark might do since he is not going to be coaching any time soon?

If Sark played hockey

.

If Sark tried his hand coaching an all women’s baseball team

.

Your are right, those are not going to turn out well for anyone.  I think I have it.  He can join a softball team.
