Stay Safe Indy! #Indy500

So by now you’ve probably heard about former Indy 500 champions getting robbed at gunpoint in a Taco Bell drive thru.  If you haven’t here it is in short.  Scott Dixon, his wife and Dario Franchitti went on a food run a little before 10pm to a local Taco Bell.  Two minors robbed them at gunpoint and luckily no one was injured.   My point about posting this isn’t to be a breaking news source but to remind people to be careful and vigilant while taking in the sights and sounds of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this week and upcoming weekend.  Those camping out especially need to be on alert.  Let’s face it, as much as the city of Speedway wants to pretend it has cleaned up the strugling community it still has and is surrounded by trash and crime.  Take a look how close this crime happened to the track and surrounding camp grounds.

Do us all a favor and watch out for each other this weekend as we celebrate another Memorial Day/Indy 5oo weekend.  If you have a friend that has had a couple too many pops make sure they don’t wander off away from the group.  Keep your eyes open for people that don’t seem to fit into the sceen and let law enforcement know if you see or suspect something not on the up and up.  If it can happen to them it can happen to you.

Stay safe Indy and take care of our friends visiting from all over the world.
