Early Season Observations and the College Football Survivor Pool

Two weeks in and the college football season is already starting to come into focus.  Here are a few things we have learned so far.

1Notre Dame and it’s fans care more about $$ than winning football games.  I still can’t get over the amount of red in the stadium.  I can guarantee the opposite will not happen in Athens when the Irish travel south.

USC is good when they are not led by Pat Hayden and drunken sailors.

Oklahoma and OK St are setting up for a huge day come Nov. 4th.

The SEC is still Alabama and a bunch of good but not great teams.

Dabo is the still the 2nd best coach in the country and Lincoln Riley is ready for the spotlight.

Joe Paterno is rotting in hell and if Penn St ever gets that statue out then we might have a real reason to protest something.

Notre Dame, UCLA, every SEC school not named Alabama and anyone else that wants to be in the College Football playoff next year needs to fire their coach and hire Chip Kelly right now.

Remember the rules, Power 5 schools plus Notre Dame can lose once and buy back in.  Everyone else must run the table to be in the discussion at year’s end.
